Powerful Day World Outreach was founded by B.L. Davis, a native of Cleveland Ohio. BL came to Nashville from Ohio in
Fall of 1998 to pursue his education and theological bachelors at American Baptist Theological Seminary. In his quest to broaden
his knowledge of the word he also found himself in a civil war searching for purpose in the ministry.
While attending ABT, BL realized that there was more to ministry than the pulpit. And the desire to reach out began to
boil down inside his heart.
BL was associate minister at Pilgrim Emmanuel Church/Tabernacle of Glory where Roderick C. Pounds is pastor. He
later began attending the services that took place next door to the seminary.
At the World Baptist Center there was a church that had Sunday service and so many people attended this service they
had to park in the College parking lot and all around the backstreets in the neighborhood. This church was the Mt Zion Baptist
Church. They had a young energetic and powerful pastor in Joseph W. Walker III. He went to a service and never turned back.
He was really getting fed the word like never before.
BL came from a traditional background and was very young in the ministry. It was obvious that God had something special
in store for this young minister from Cleveland Ohio.
Mt. Zion was a different kind of worship service. "There was a freedom that I've never felt before". There was order
and structure. And I have never seen a service start late, bible study or any church function. Jesus is preached and him crucified
and raised from the dead. Sitting under the tutelage of Bishop Walker I found my purpose" says, BL.
BL often talked about how God would direct him to sit on the back pews and pray for people. But he wanted so bad for
the preachers to know that he was a preacher. God had another assignment for this man of God, (sit down and pray). This is
where the vision began to take shape. The church started growing at such a rapid rate we had to move to TSU gentry center.
And this is where is starts. The pastor appointed BL to oversee the Outreach Ministy. In doing this practically handed him
his purpose. With his interaction with other outreach ministries around the city, he began to see where his passion for the
lost and the leftout really took form.
While working across from Centennial Park in Nashville, TN the vision for a revival came to BL. And he organized
a revival in the park, called Church in the Park:. It was a learning experience in God would plant a seed and give a sneak
preview of revivals and crusades to come.
AND THAT'S IT
From that Church in the Park experience, the potential for lost souls to come to Christ was increased. Reverand
Norman Robinson who is now the pastor of Progressive Baptist Church in Nashville was a big part of the success of this event.
His dedication to God and the work of Jesus Christ was a magnet.
My relationship with my pastor Bishop Walker was a confirmation in my life and my ministry that I had the passion
to REACHOUT.
THANK GOD FOR JESUS
